Product Description

We all have struggles in life that interrupt our feelings of peace. Burdens weigh heavy on us and we ache for a sense of refuge, hope, and belonging. In the midst of this exploration, a promise reaches out from the gospel: Jesus tells us that when we welcome him into our hearts, he will draw near and make his home with us (John 14:23). But what if this heart-space was something more of a heart-home?

In The Heart-Home Builder, author Rachel Braunscheidel ponders what a heart-home is and how we can cultivate one even in the midst of life’s difficulties. Rachel shares her own experiences with chronic illness and invites you into the hope she’s found despite this pain. It is an invitation and an adventure to find deep hope, grace, and belonging right in the center of our souls.

We all can create a little space of refuge, right in the center of our beings—a center filled with spirit, love, memories, hope, and passion. And this heart-home can be a sanctuary where we can receive, extend, and be shaped by Christ’s love. So join Rachel and discover this life within, and seek a life of inner peace, joy, contentment, and love. It will be a journey of the heart.

The Heart-Home Builder was a pleasure to read – and it honestly encouraged me. It is a short book, but packed with delicious morsels of honesty, wisdom, and compassion. Actually, compassion is a central theme throughout. She introduces Jesus in perhaps a new way – one who is keenly interested in taking up residence inside of you and one who, if allowed, will start remodeling your heart. It’s more than your average Christian book about Jesus. This book gets right to the issue of understanding that life’s not fair and Jesus has known that from the beginning and doesn’t like it either.

Rachel writes briefly on a series of topics that outlines what Jesus plans to do to make things right in the world, and what we need to do to allow that to happen in our own lives. She has a style that blends humor and sincerity. She has the spiritual and physical war wounds that prove her authenticity. And, she’s “earned her degree” so to speak on the topic of life’s difficulties, but has attained a joy elusive to most people.

The book is a gift to those with a need for hope of things to come. There are no prerequisites, and the invitation for knowing yourself along with the God of Everything is presented in the most appealing and simple way that I have ever seen.

The book will no-doubt facilitate much discussion and deep introspection. For a first-time writer, Rachel is impressive. She presents her work a bit like the Heart-Home Builder Himself – with deep thought and conviction yet somehow allowing the lines to remain a bit amorphous, allowing for the ideas to root in the reader’s mind and then take form in beautiful ways.

Hands down the best book I’ve read this year. Rachel does an outstanding job capturing the spirit of Christ and how he lives in our hearts. While reading the book I felt like I was sitting with Rachel herself simply having an intimate conversation over a cup of tea. In a world of noisy, brutish opinions and overwhelming expectations Rachel brings in back to the basics, regrounding us in the brilliant, approachable, love filled truth that is faith. Even in life’s greatest storms she inspires us to stand. Bravo, Miss Braunscheidel! Thank you for illuminating my holiday season with joy. You are a voice calling out to so many. – with love and gratitude, JLB.

This no doubt a #1 Best seller. Rachel has taken her life’s struggles and put those words from her heart to pen and painted this wonderful picture of how we should live our life’s in the mists of a storm. She has captivated on how to respond to every situation that may come up in life. Easy to understand and follow on her journey and ours and how to remodel our heart through her book called The Heart-Home Builder. Even after being saved at a late stage in life (42), now 63, after this read, I have found my heart needed some remodeling and this book has carved the way. Great job….Good and Faithful servant.
